The home is fast becoming a haven for workaholics and working from home is meant to be one of the great advantages of new technology. About 1.5 million people or 5.5 % of the UK workforce fell within this definition of homeworking, according to a survey by one of the leading fitted wardrobes specialists.
More than 3,000 people participated in the survey, 12% said that they were separately clocking up a minimum of 5 hours unpaid work per week, which is equate to around 260 hours per year – the equivalent of 34.6 days and nearly seven working weeks .
